This is easy to replace, because there is a bolt. even this is better than the OEM because it doesn't have the second safety catch which is why I had to order this first. on the OEM hoist safety latch rusts and is impossible to get off. Luckily it was a beautiful day and I was parked in front of my friends work shop. I had to grind it out one of the tabs on the old tire down hoist. that would really be fun in the rain or snow on
